COVID GUIDLINES

COVID-19 Protocol - Updated 09/15/2021

Chandler Girls Softball League is committed to the health and wellness of our players and their families, our umpires, Board Members (Board) and the City of Chandler.  Our protocols are based on the USA Softball/Nine Stars Sports COVID-19 protocol procedures that have been utilized for much of the 2020 and 2021 tournament season.  As required by the state, county and city, we agree to the list of recommended guidelines listed below.  If we have overlooked any area, we are willing to add to this list to make sure we are following the best practices for a safe event.  When the city approves our mitigation procedures, we will also communicate this list of guidelines to the coaches, umpires and our Board to prepare for a successful season.  We agree that you may post our list below on your web site as public information.  We would like all to know we take the safety of our attendees at our league seriously and will go the extra mile to keep all as safe as possible.

General Safety Information

  • We have reviewed all CDC Guidelines for latest recommendations on COVID-19 / Infectious diseases, and we will review with Board, coaches, parents, vendors and umpires.
  • We will communicate via social media, our website, and/or email and via our APP with teams, and our Board, regarding these guidelines for keeping all in our safe.
  • We will follow all State and Local Government sites for latest mandates.
  • If anyone shows any signs of symptoms, feels sick, they should not be permitted to come into the park.
  • Our league will have board members on site to monitor and enforce our protocol procedures.

Game Participants:

  • The plan for equipment use: Umpires will use new softball each game.
  • Players will bring their own individual water or sport bottle. Water dispensers in the dugout will not be permitted.
  • We do not permit sunflower seeds.
  • Wearing a face mask on the field or in dugout is optional for both players and coaches.
  • Social distances will be observed during coin toss area, conferences expanded, no handshakes.
  • No sportsmanship handshaking after the game. However a we do recommend a cheer for the opposing team.

Reporting

  • To maintain the health and wellness of our players, coaches and families, GCSL request that you inform CGSL of any positive COVID results. This information will be kept confidential.  CGSL will notify the affected team(s).

COVID Exposures / confirmation:

  • If a player or Coach has tested positive for COVID, they must quarantine for 10 days and may resume activities after 10 days and 24hrs with no fever
  • If you are fully vaccinated it is recommended to get tested 3-5 days after exposure and if you are requesting to resume activities with our league prior to the ten day period, please inform us in writing that you had a negative test.
  • If you are a Coach or an Assistant Coach we (please) request a copy of the negative test result, prior to resuming CGSL activities.
